Broken Head
The protected beach at Broken Head is surrounded by a national park reserve. Broken Head is both a popular surf spot and family beach, and has both barbeque and shower facilities and a large grassy area for picnickers. A day at the beach here is a good option to get away from the busier town beaches, but parking is limited and can be a problem in the busier summer months. A walking track leads through the trees to the headland, providing a spectacular view back across the ocean to the Byron Bay Lighthouse. There are also several accommodation options ranging from the beautiful camp ground to more resort- style facilities.
