Bluesfest
The East Coast Blues and Roots Festival celebrates its 25th birthday on Thursday the 17th of April 2014 to Monday the 21st of April 2014 local, national and international lineup. This festival is a favourite with past acts including Ben Harper, Keith Urban, Taj Mahal, REM, George Clinton and Parliament, and many, many more.
With a laid-back vibe and an easy to access location keep people coming back to Bluesfest year after year. With multiple stages including smaller stages for more intimate acts this festival is dynamic and hard to define. Acts often play for free on the streets of Byron Bay, with Michael Franti’s impromptu performance outside a central supermarket going down in local history!
Bluesfest is a proud two-time winner of the Greener Festival green awards for efforts at promoting environmentally friendly practices in their festival organisation. Sharing a community spirit like the other music festivals, Splendour In The Grass and Raggamuffin, Bluesfest has numerous market stalls with food and handicrafts available on site, but also runs buses to and from the town and neighbouring suburbs as well as providing parking facilities.
As for the Writers Festival, these earlybird tickets offer big reductions on the costs of three and five-day passes, so it is a good idea to take advantage of this offer. Make sure that you get in early for accommodation as well, as the nearby camp grounds and the hotels in town are popular amongst festival goers.
